We are making assumptions about why the request was made too, perhaps the person is just curious how much they have used the camera to make a decision of whether to just sell it or keep it. If you and other want to get hung up on number of actuations as being the most important factor in buying a camera, that is your perogative. Perhaps wise buyers find my descriptions of cameras and my positive feedback of 144 more important than the number of actuations. I have bought and sold many cameras without myself or buyer knowing the number of actuations.

There is no set max shutter count for a camera, even the numbers posted by Canon mean nothing, other than to show levels of robustness from one model to another (model A has 100K MTBF, but model b has 300K MTBF so obviously B is built better). It does affect resale, but in a very superficial way. One could record 3000 hours of video with an R6 but only take 1000 still shots, for example.

Thanks will have to try that as I have some camras I bought used that would interesting, also I got a count from Canon on my 5D I will see if ties up. I think you're right Ken but it's the only way I've managed to find out my 7D's actuations. I think Macs are not compatible with EOSCount. I think some internet browsers are not compatible but they give you all the info you need.
I had the same issue with my 7D and was able to know exactly hoy many I have in my camera. In EOSCount you can check your MKII's actuations. The other topic about the 300,000 count on the 5D Mark II got me to thinking I would like to check what my count is. Can you check for this on the 5D Mark II in camera? I thought you could but can't find anything on the Menu.
